BC government moving forward on solutions
On December 5th, the government of British Columbia released a new climate plan, CleanBC, which sets out a vision for a low carbon economy and clean growth. Organizations as diverse as the Business Council of BC, Clean Energy Canada, the Pembina Institute and US Governors are praising the plan for positioning BC as a leader on climate while building a more competitive and innovative economy. We look forward to supporting this bold plan and building upon the momentum of Climate Smart businesses and host partners across all industry sectors. Download CleanBC at https://cleanbc.gov.bc.ca/.
As a founding member of Businesses for B.C.’s Clean Economy, along with Arc’teryx, Innergex Renewable Energy, the Insurance Bureau of Canada, Vancity and the Pembina Institute, we applaud the Province for setting BC on a forward-thinking path towards opportunity and hope. FortisBC’s #ReduceYourUse campaign
When an Enbridge-owned transmission pipeline ruptured in October, BC’s natural gas supply was impacted. While the transmission pipeline has been repaired, it is operating at lower capacity and FortisBC is asking all customers to reduce natural gas this winter. Check out the FortisBC video on how BC’s gas system works and how to reduce natural gas use – and greenhouse gas emissions too! https://youtu.be/xnNJaDVTIgg
