Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR) invites you to join a group of local businesses that are cutting costs by cutting carbon.
Generously sponsored by:
The Vancouver Airport Authority is committed to being a leader in sustainability and supporting a culture of engagement and connectivity – that’s why we are inviting Sea Island businesses to participate in Project Green YVR. One of our initiatives in 2018 is to continue the Climate Smart program, which helps businesses to improve their energy, water and waste footprints while reducing those associated costs. Climate Smart consists of small-group training sessions, expert one-on-one advising, and customized reporting and analysis.
This collaboration with Sea Island businesses will support targets and strategies established in YVR’s Environmental Management Plan including:
- Reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 33% over 2012 levels by 2020
- Reduce water consumption by 30% over 2012 levels by 2020
- Increase terminal waste diversion to 50% by 2020
- Improve ecosystem health
Together with Climate Smart, YVR will help Sea Island businesses reduce their carbon footprint, waste emissions and water usage, while cutting costs. Through three half-day training sessions, Climate Smart’s web-based software application, and one-on-one advising, you’ll develop strategies to save on energy costs, improve operational efficiencies and engage employees. Learn more about Climate Smart.
Climate Smart trains key staff and provides businesses with the support to become more competitive in an era of carbon regulation and volatile energy prices. In a collaborative learning environment, your staff will draw on the experience of other businesses and apply tools to measure and profitably reduce your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and water usage. Learn more about how it works.
