New Federal Government Funding for GHG Reduction Projects

As part of the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change, the Climate Action Incentive Fund (CAIF) is a new Environment and Climate Change Canada program, delivering up to $218M in its first year (2019-2020), funded from the proceeds of the federal carbon pollution pricing system. Programming would be available in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and New Brunswick, where provinces have not committed to their own carbon pollution pricing systems

Climate Smart Story: Sylvis Environmental

Climate Smart certified since 2012, SYLVIS Environmental is a leading Canadian residuals management consulting and contracting firm. Sylvis staff are participating in Climate Smart trainings in both BC and Alberta, as part of the City of Edmonton’s Corporate Climate Leaders Program and Change for Climate initiative here. Sylvis has made impressive strides in reducing GHG emissions from business travel. From the 2012 baseline through 2017, SYLVIS reduced its emissions by 31% overall, including 27% for air and ferry travel, which resulted in a significant financial benefit. Learn more here.
